Going Vegan is a 100% plant-based catering group serving the greater Los Angeles area. Our menus are seasonal, and our ingredients are organic. Whether you’re looking for sophisticated plating or casual comforts, we’ve got you covered.
Each recipe has been developed by Chef Jesse Brune-Horan.
Though we specialize in intimate gatherings with up to fifty guests, we love to serve corporate events, cocktail hours, and weddings. We also offer in-home cooking classes.
Jesse brings years of culinary expertise and teaching to Going Vegan.
After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2006, he dove into television as a food and wellness expert. He has co-starred in Bravo’s Workout, Food Network’s Private Chefs of Beverly Hills, and OWN’s Emmy-winning Home Made Simple. He has been a featured expert in countless magazines, television shows, and books. As a chef instructor, Jesse has led courses at Epicurean Culinary School and The New School of Cooking.
Throughout his career, Chef Jesse has catered private events and worked as a personal chef on both coasts of the United States, primarily with high-profile clientele.
In 2020, he founded thefedcollective.com, a plant-based lifestyle destination, and e-commerce store. It was here that he began developing his vegan-inspired recipes.
As a product development chef, he worked with the Simply Fresh brand to create inspired vegetable dishes for mass retail distribution. Here, he worked with food scientists to develop natural solutions for vegetable longevity while maximizing the nutritional index of each recipe.
He also teaches meditation and other inner-wellness practices. He was featured in the documentary “Is Mindfulness Right For You?”
In addition to his role with Going Vegan, Chef Jesse serves as director of Violet Cooking School in Westwood Village, CA and facilitates their plant-based curriculum.
Christopher Brune-Horan has over thirty years of experience in hospitality in both the front and back of the house.
Christopher has a long history of food and family. It started in Port Jervis, New York, where his mother owned a famous submarine sandwich shop and café. He remembers carving 6″ party sandwiches for local Super Bowl parties as early as junior high.
After becoming engaged, Jesse and Chris meticulously catered intimate celebrations and dinner parties in Los Angeles and Orange County to raise money for their wedding. Since then, he’s helped coordinate and manage multiple private events, focusing on operations and guest experience.
Along the way, Christopher has worked in New York and Los Angeles at famous landmarks such as The Russian Tea Room, Barrymores, Orso, and Cicada. For the last ten years, he has worked closely with the Markowitz family at Factor’s Famous Deli in Beverly Hills.

Going Vegan is family-operated. Jesse and Christopher Brune-Horan have over fifty years of hospitality experience combined. In 2013, they started catering small gatherings to fund their wedding, and like their family, the concept kept growing.
