Online Vegan Nutrition Counseling

Design an individualized wellness program with Going Vegan’s Nutrition Director, Russell Fairbanks.

What is nutrition counseling?

At Going Vegan, we believe that good health is all-encompassing and requires a holistic approach. That’s why we offer personalized nutrition counseling where you can have a one-on-one discussion with a nutrition professional.

We understand that switching to a plant-based diet is a great way to take control of your health and contribute to the well-being of the planet. However, it can be daunting to make the transition on your own. That’s where we come in. We provide professional guidance to help you transition to a plant-based lifestyle safely and effectively.

During your private session with Russell (our Nutrition Director), you’ll receive a customized eating plan that caters to your unique needs and ensures you get all the nutrients required for optimal health on your plant-based diet. We are committed to helping you feel successful as you transition into Going Vegan.

What to Expect...

Before Your Session

Your counselor should know as much as possible about your physiology to determine your nutrient needs.

  • Your initial 15-minute consultation is designed to allow you to meet your counselor and share any personal or health challenges you may face so they can be prepared to help you set up a course of action.
  • You’ll be asked to submit any recent blood tests, health labs, prescriptions, or other medically relevant information so we can comprehensively evaluate your health.
  • You’ll fill out our user-friendly intake form, including your height, age, weight, etc. 
  • You’ll also receive a simple food log and be asked to submit three days of entries. *Going Vegan is a judgment-free space, so we encourage you to be honest so we can give you the best guidance possible.

During Your Session

  • Your initial session is 60 minutes in length and held via ZOOM.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to share your personal health goals and work with your counselor to¬†design a personalized care plan, including food, exercise, sleep, and even socialization. We know health must be addressed holistically.
  • This is your opportunity to ask questions so you feel set up for success on your plant-based diet (lifestyle).

Following Your Session

  • 45-minute follow-ups are available to answer remaining questions and help keep you on track as you acclimate to Going Vegan.

  • 30-minute check-ins are quick meetings to answer short questions, hear concerns, and develop the following steps on your vegan journey.

  • If all this vegan meal planning seems daunting, we can develop a 5-day meal guide designed specifically for you.

Meet Russell

Nutrition Director Russell Fairbanks is a holistic health specialist with a degree in nutritional science, dietetics from UC Berkeley.

He believes that wellbeing is a symptom of all life factors combined, and that YOU are the best expert regarding your own health. With over five years of experience in nutrition, food science, teaching, and human physiology, he loves sharing his knowledge with anyone looking to positively impact themselves and the world.

In addition to his work in nutrition, Russell holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art based on karate. He teaches privately and leads classes for both adults and children.
